About us
Who we are
Not So Micro campaigns to make training on microaggressions and anti-racism mandatory for teachers, and was created by, and for, young people.
Not So Micro was created in January 2022 as part of the Young Changemakers Programme in January 2022 by The Diana Award, UK Youth, and Centre for Mental Health. Our organisation is dedicated to fostering inclusive school environments rooted in anti-racism, starting with addressing racial microaggressions.
Our culture and values
As an organisation, we are extremely relaxed. Our organisational structure is nearly completely flat, and we work nearly completely remotely (an occasional team day is good for bonding and bringing together ideas!). We aim to have team meetings at a minimum of once a month to check on one another's progress and wellbeing.
When looking at core beliefs we expect the following things from one another:
- Commitment
- Anti-discriminatory practice
- Respect
- Transparency
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
As an organisation dedicated to anti-racism, we expect anyone operating within our organisation to uphold values of anti-discrimination. This applies to all the protected characteristics outlined under the Equality Act 2010.
