About us

Who we are

At North Wales Women’s Centre our Mission is to:

"Cultivate and advance the social and economic development of women in our community."

The North Wales Women’s Centre is a safe place for women to access information, support, advocacy and training on issues relating to health, wellbeing and work.

We have a team of Women's Welfare Support Workers providing one to one support to women who are referred or self-refer to the centre. We also host two IDVAs (Independent Domestic Violence Advocates). Our counselling service is made up of qualified and trainee counsellors who are closely supervised and individually matched to the needs of women using the Centre. Our community activities form the basis of our work and mean our Centre is a vibrant and busy place where women of all ages, abilities and backgrounds can engage, learn, contribute and thrive.

Established in 2001, the Centre operates from Rhyl town centre. Rhyl West is the highest ranked ward on the Index of Deprivation in Wales and two other wards of the town are high on the list also. We work hard with the women of Rhyl to change this through building empowerment, aspirations and skills.
