About us

Who we are

Established in 2005, Newcastle Rugby Foundation is the charitable arm of Newcastle Falcons and Newcastle Thunder. But we’re not just about rugby—we strive to activate positive change within our community. We are a small and agile team, driven by a clear purpose and an unwavering determination to support those who need us most in our community.

We work with schools, community groups and forward-thinking businesses across the North East to deliver physical and educational programmes, making rugby+ the positive difference that changes lives for good. Each year we work with over 15,000 participants, partner with 30 organisations and deliver 25 projects, which are designed to boost wellbeing, grow skills, raise involvement and build belonging.

Our culture and values

Our aim is to foster personal growth, encourage resilience and nurture the potential in every person we support, through Rugby+.  Underpinning this are our values, and it’s important that our partners align with them too.

Positive energy - A non-negotiable. We always bring the energy to everything we do.

Let's make connections - It’s more than a handshake; we want people to feel connected to each other and to their purpose.

Up for a challenge - Not just the running and climbing mountains kind. It’s important for us that we leave no stone unturned in the journey to getting someone to where they want to be-no matter what it takes.

Supportive and caring - We only hire and work with people who epitomise this. We know that everyone is going through something. There is no room for judgement, and sometimes tough love is needed, but above all else, we are kind.
