About us
Who we are
Our galleries and exhibition spaces investigate and celebrate photography, film, television, animation, videogames and sound technologies. And our three cinema screens—including an IMAX theatre—allow us to showcase the magic of moving images from around the world in Bradford, the first UNESCO City of Film.
The skills, knowledge and passion of our volunteers make our museum special. With exciting roles across the museum, our volunteers have an opportunity to make a positive impact on our visitors and enhance our understanding of the collection.
Our culture and values
As part of Science Museum Group (SMG), we make it our mission to Inspire Futures. We are guided by five values which are at the heart of everything we do:
We think big, pushing the limits of what’s possible.
We challenge ourselves to reveal wonder.
We use our passion, expertise and creativity to share authentic stories.
We aim to ignite curiosity in our audiences and our colleagues.
We take pride in being open for all.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
The Science Museum Group's mission is to Inspire Futures. Central to this is our work towards a society where all people feel that science is for them and have opportunities to access the social and economic benefits it brings.
We are committed to ensuring that all people - whether that's our staff, volunteers, or the millions of people who visit our sites or engage with us online - see our museums and sites as places for them. Our public programme, accessible practices, and the stories we tell through our collection all play an essential role in creating spaces that are open for everyone.
