About us
Who we are
NAPAC (The National Association for People Abused in Childhood) offers support to adults who suffered any type of abuse in childhood; physical, sexual, emotional or neglect. There are 8.5 million adult survivors of child abuse in the UK, according to the ONS (Office of National Statistics) in 2020.
NAPAC’s national telephone support line offers confidential emotional support to survivors of childhood abuse on calls of up to half an hour. Last year we took nearly 11,000 calls and emails from survivors and those who support them. Our support line service is run by experienced staff and trained volunteers.
Through our advocacy work, with opinion-formers and through the media, we are helping to improve understanding about the impacts of childhood abuse on adults.
