About us
Who we are
The Muslim Youth Helpline (MYH) is a national award winning charity providing faith and culturally sensitive support services to young Muslims in the UK. MYH was set up to address the lack of effective support mechanisms available for young Muslims growing up in the UK. For many of our clients, MYH is the first port of call for many of the issues they face which range from mental health, sexual abuse, identity to name just a few. Our core services are a free and confidential helpline, open seven days a week offering emotional support through telephone, emails and web chat. We also run campaigns to raise awareness and increase capacity for mainstream services and the Muslim community to understand and deal with issues affecting British Muslims. We are a youth-centered organization that is a lifeline for young people experiencing difficulties.
We have well trained male and female staff and volunteers with advanced listening skills to respond to any kind of client enquiries. The principles of being a youth and volunteer centered organisation is reflected in staff and volunteer pool. By omitting the generation gap, talking about issues considered 'taboo' within the community, and offering a non-judgemental service, we are able to build the trust of young people and deal effectively with the social pressures that young people from the Muslim community have never before been able to reveal.
