Who we are

Our vision is of a world where everyone living with a disability gets to lead the life they choose. Our Mission is to give as many young people with disabilities as possible the opportunity to work or volunteer in their community.

my AFK is a national charity working with disabled young people, their families and carers.  We aim to transform young lives by removing the barriers to independence.  We provide wheelchairs, other mobility equipment and vital family support.  We run accredited life skills training, work-related learning programmes and supported work placement schemes. 

Volunteers are extremely important in helping our young people access the opportunities provided for them. We recognise volunteers as an integral part of the organisation. Their contribution supports our mission and strategic aims and complements the roles of paid staff. We aim to encourage and support volunteer involvement to ensure volunteering benefits the organisation, trainees and volunteers themselves.
