Who we are

Music in Hospitals & Care (MiHC) brings interactive live music sessions to people who are receiving care or treatment in healthcare settings across the UK. We aim to reach people who may have little, if any, access to live music

MiHC is a UK charity, founded in 1948. Our live musical sessions are designed to humanise clinical settings through versatile and highly personalised performances. We create moments and memories of sheer joy, relaxation, engagement and sometimes, magic.

We organise around 4,500 live music sessions a year for people of all ages receiving care or treatment for an illness or disability. Our professional musicians visit hospitals, hospices, care homes, day centres, special schools and community settings. Every session is unique and tailored to meet the needs of each audience group.

We have offices throughout the UK with over 650 musicians spread far and wide across the country. Together, and thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we are able to bring the benefits of engagement with live music to over 90,000 people in care each year.
