Music Action International

Who we are

Music Action International are a multi-award-winning organisation transforming lives destroyed by war, torture & persecution. We create innovative psychosocial music and training programmes with survivors to reduce the effects of trauma through creative expression in emotionally safe environments. We connect divided communities through shared positive experiences of music, creating empathy and understanding between people of different backgrounds. Since 2010, we have engaged over 7000 participants in this country, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Sierra-Leone, Georgia and Palestine.

Our unique methodology has been awarded the Guardian Charity Award, Southbank ChangeMakers Award, Weston Award and nominated for Youth Music Innovation Award and Making Music Award.
