About us
Who we are
Madagascar faces huge challenges. It ranks amongst the worst countries in the world for malnutrition, maternal health and child mortality. The majority of the population has no access to sanitation or clean water. An average Malagasy completes less than 5 years education. The environmental challenges are equally urgent and acute. Money for Madagascar enables communities in Madagascar to reduce poverty by backing agents of sustainable change. Our development activities are connected like the spokes of W.H.E.E.L.S. – Water, Health, Education, Environment, Livelihoods and Sanitation. We take an integrated approach, viewing our beneficiaries as powerful agents for change. Beneficiaries include orphans, street children, vulnerable teenaged girls, farmers in environmental hotspots and women’s cooperatives. As well as investing in the poor and vulnerable we also invest in community leaders and local development agencies to foster grass-roots sustainable development.
