Who we are
Liberty Choir UK is a national charity providing choir programmes in UK prisons.
Liberty Choir brings volunteers and high quality musicians into 10 prisons each week, to form choirs with inmates. On release, the inmates can join our community choirs, providing them with a ready-made group of friends who support them in rebuilding their lives.
Liberty Choir's vision is to reduce the high numbers of prisoners who re-offend within a short period of their release. By providing joyful and purposeful activity each week, and in harnessing the power of singing together to form community bonds, prisoners have been able to make positive, meaningful changes to their lives and break the cycle of hopelessness that leads to re-offending.
