About us
Who we are
Let’s Go Outside and Learn is a Community Interest Company set up in 2015. We work in the London Boroughs of Richmond and Hounslow. We also work in the River Crane Catchment to encourage community stewardship in the river corridor.
Our aim is to use green spaces and nature to support and enhance the lives of our communities.
We run a wide variety of projects including 1-1 as well as small group walks for vulnerable and isolated people, conservation volunteering with employment development included, youth outdoor education, and partner with local councils and organisations to bring local people into green spaces.
Our culture and values
We do this by:
Introducing people living in an urban and built-up environment to the natural environment around them,
Bringing people who are socially isolated together to make new friends,
Showing the benefits that spending time outdoors offers,
Encouraging participants to feel part of the wider community,
Breaking down barriers for people who might not normally access parks to come together in a safe space,
Encouraging everyone to learn about nature / the natural environment.
Encouraging learning including new skills.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
We prioritise providing opportunities for those who don't often have access to volunteering and nature. All of our volunteering roles are adaptable depending on needs, and are often guided by the volunteers and the people in the community who they are supporting.
We have a variety of spoken languages in our team, and can in some casesprovide language support if English is a barrier to you engaging.
We ask that you take responsibility for communicating your needs and limits, and we will take responsibility for honouring them so that you can benefit from the projects and natural spaces.
We can reimburse your reasonable expenses for transport, and have a little budget for refreshments during the sessions.
