About us
Who we are
Lattitude Global Volunteering, is a UK registered international youth development charity, established in 1972. We organise overseas volunteering placements from 3 to 12 months in 10 countries in Europe, Asia, North America, Latin America, Africa and the Pacific, for young people aged 17 to 25. Our mission is to educate and develop young people worldwide by providing inclusive opportunities for them to make a positive difference to the lives of others through a distinctive, challenging, structured and supported international volunteering experience in a culture and community different from their own. We have developed long-lasting partnerships with a wide variety of charitable organisations around the world including schools, orphanages, care homes, hospitals and research centres, to provide opportunities for young people to volunteer in the fields of education, health, community or the environment. The opportunities we provide enable young people to make a real difference to the communities in which they volunteer and to develop confidence, independence, responsibility and a greater sense of global citizenship. In the UK we provide funding, in the form of bursaries, to support the costs of young people in financial hardship who would not otherwise be able to afford the international volunteering experience. We are governed by a board of trustees and our Royal Patron is HRH The Princess Royal.
