About us
Who we are
Our mission is to enable people with disabilities to achieve their potential through the challenge of adventurous activities in the countryside in order for them to develop, change perceptions and make positive and lasting changes to their lives.
The Lake District Calvert Trust has been delivering outdoor activity courses for children & adults with disabilities for over 40 years. The centre provides a life-enhancing service to people affected by disability: be it sensory, learning or physical, we help break down barriers and enrich as many lives as we can.
Our provision is all-inclusive; we offer residential stays for individuals, family groups, specialist schools (eg: Jarrow Autistic Centre, Percy Hedley School), accessible sports clubs and charity groups (eg: Henshaws).
We offer an unrivalled service to our users; providing everything a conventional outdoor education facility does, but with the specialist kit and experienced staff to ensure even the most profound disabilities are catered for, and that anything is possible!
