About us
Who we are
Krizevac was founded in 2007 by Tony Smith, a Staffordshire business man who wanted to do good with the money made by his mobile phone company, Mobell Communications. Tony was inspired by his faith to transform some of the poorest communities in the world through the provision of education, training, employment and supporting the growth of enterprises. Today, we have a board of trustees of 4 people, one of whom, Vince Owen is also our managing director. We have a team of 14 regular employees (including 2 young apprentices) and around 25 regular unpaid volunteers who dedicate hours of their time to helping us in our Stoke on Trent base. We work from an old ceramics factory in the heart of The Potteries and while we exist to support communities overseas, we do all that we can to support our home community too. We do this by creating partnerships with local schools, supported learning centres and youth offending institutes so that we’re helping to build the Cycle of Good here in Stoke on Trent too.
Our approach to effecting lasting positive change for some of the poorest countries in the world is to support the growth of locally owned, non-profit enterprises which create vocational training opportunities leading to meaningful permanent employment. Our enterprises in Malawi generate a trading surplus which is wholly invested into education, family support and community development projects which effect longer term change, thus breaking the deprivation cycle for future generations.
