Who we are

The British Heart Foundation's mission is to win the fight against heart and circulatory disease, one of the UK's biggest killers. Every day we raise money that powers research to help people with heart disease, stroke, diabetes and vascular dementia.

A large portion of our funding comes from our 700 charity shops that keep over 75,000 tonnes of pre-loved items every year affordable to everyday people. Whilst having a huge positive impact on the environment by encouraging re-use culture, this in turn keeps our researchers and PhD students battling to find new ways to help those living with heart and circulatory diseases. 

Our research is powered by your support, and we couldn't do it without our amazing shop volunteers. Join our Kingston shop team as a volunteer for a few hours a week when it suits you around your studies, and become a life-saver.
