About us
Who we are
Kennet Furniture Refurbiz is a well-established Furniture and White goods reuse Charity. Our team are based in Devizes and we look to collect and deliver items across Wiltshire and Swindon.
Our small friendly workforce is made up of 6 paid staff (mainly Part-time) and over 15 volunteers. We operate Monday to Friday and currently open the 1st Saturday of the Month.
As a charity we aim to refurbish unwanted furniture and White Goods, and to revive our Communities by offering affordable prices and great volunteering opportunities. Our mission is threefold:
- Provide quality, safe items to low income households across the county. Offering a practical way to assist in tackling deprivation.
- Offer meaningful volunteering opportunities to all within our community. Supporting those who are isolated to feel part of their community; helping those seeking work to gain skills, knowledge and confidence to secure paid employment.
- Reduce waste by promoting reuse and recycling within the community. Collecting unwanted items for free (or small donation) and making them available to others in need.
We have been working hard in the county for over 20years and have formed working relationships with many other organisations to support those in need. These include Wiltshire Council, SSAFA, Lions Clubs, and many others.
With ever increasing need of support within the community, KFR offer all our goods to anyone within the area. Those in low incomes are offered our discounted ‘Green’ Prices to make items affordable. We also have expanded the wide variety of volunteering opportunities and work with many partners to offer formal training qualifications alongside the experience gained by working with us.
KFR have supported over 2500 households per year, and up to 50 Volunteers each year. We truly embrace the diversity and mix of needs across the county and are always seeking ways to improve the support we offer. Full details can be found on our website.
