Who we are

Kent Students’ Union (KSU) is the membership organisation for students at the University of Kent.

KSU is a charity and provides a range of services to University of Kent students to support, advocate and enable them during their time at university. Students joining Kent become members of KSU and then they can access, for free, services provided on their behalf.

 

Services include:

  • Management of Student Groups: over 250 groups are run by students for students, supported by KSU.
  • Advice Service: free impartial and confidential advice on a range of issues.
  • Student Voice: representing academic interest and ensuring students get the most from their experience.
  • Jobshop: an employment service to help students find work whilst they study

 

Kent Union Trading Limited (KUTL) is the commercial arm of Kent Students’ Union.

KUTL operates a wide range of sector leading services on campus on behalf of Kent Student’s Union to enhance the student experience as well as generate income to help fund KSU to provide services to our members, students at the University of Kent.

Services include:

  • The Venue: Canterbury’s largest nightclub.
  • Woody’s: our sit-down restaurant.
  • Library Café: a café in the heart of the Templeman Library.
  • SU Network: our Business Development team.
  • Two Co-op franchise stores: providing student, staff and community retail on campus.
  • Oaks Nursery: an on-campus nursery for staff, students and the local community.

With an annual combined turnover of £9 million, these have a huge impact upon the student experience.
