Who we are
KairosWWT exists to increase the life-chances, choices and wellbeing of women caught up in prostitution, affected by or at risk of sexual exploitation in Coventry. We collaborate with women to support them, focusing on safety, stability and self-belief.
Our projects include:
- Street Outreach and Drop-In - supporting women in street-based prostitution to stay safe and get help. Harm reduction items, refreshments, access to health professionals and a safe space to report crimes.
- 1-2-1 support to help women achieve their personal and development goals (e.g. addressing housing/homelessness, support for drug addictions, navigating benefits system, acessing health services, etc.)
- Criminal Justice project - supporting women through the criminal justice system and addressing root reasons for offences (e.g. homelessness, poverty, lack of support networks). Includes supporting women to probation and court appearances, visiting women serving custodial sentences and working with prisons/probation to reduce reoffendgin rates
- Feeling Safe Preventative Programme - equips young women (aged 18-24) who are at risk of sexual exploitation, to recognise it, identify risks and seek help through one-to-one, group work and awareness raising workshops
