Who we are

Josephine’s Star is a Somerset based charity that supports bereaved children with their grief

We provide one-to-one support, based around six, one-hour support sessions.  In each session we work with the child to explore their grief and help them to develop coping strategies. All of our work is done in conjunction with the families, carers and schools to ensure the most positive outcome for the children and young people.  We are best described as a 'listening service' - we offer grief support not counselling.

All services offered to children are free of charge.

Our culture and values

We are a small team that works collaboratively together to fulfil the charity’s programme of support.

Josephine’s Star employs an administrator, volunteer co-ordinator and grief support worker.  They are overseen and supported by an actively involved board of trustees.  The charity has a strong volunteer group who are trained to support children in their 1 to 1 sessions.
