About us
Who we are
IT Schools Africa is a UK registered charity founded in 2004. Our mission is to transform lives through access to and improved use of e-Learning technology. We help to provide quality education in Africa through the reuse of donated computer equipment to schools are well as supporting a wide range of community based initiatives in the UK. We have sent over 55,000 computers to schools in 20 countries in Africa, trained over 750 teachers and given access to IT to an estimated 5 million children.
The charity's holistic approach to the reuse of computer equipment, supports programmes in both the UK and Africa. In the UK, our prison programme, back to work placement scheme and community volunteer programme - support the refurbishment of computers and prepare them for shipping. In Africa, the programme delivers IT teaching training and technical support to schools and deals with the final disposal of computers in an environmentally friendly way.
