Who we are

Inspired Community Enterprise Trust (ICET) was set up in 2011 with the purpose of creating positive employability and training opportunities and wider citizenship opportunities for young adults with additional support needs. The organisation is a social enterprise - these are businesses which trade to tackle social issues, improve communities, people’s life chances or the environment. Social enterprises reinvest any profits back into the business or community. ICET have developed the idea of a community café with which to provide these opportunities and now occupy The Usual Place, which is on the corner of Lovers Walk and Academy Street in Dumfries. The Usual Place is fully accessible and has a Changing Places toilet and is wheelchair friendly throughout. The Usual Place offers flexible training rooms and is available to hire in whole or in part for all your needs. The Usual Place also offers gallery space and a retail area.
