About us
Who we are
Inside Justice is a small charity, registered in 2018, which investigates alleged miscarriages of justice. Receiving applications from prisoners usually serving long sentences for crimes they say they did not commit, our work is to review and assess applications to identify whether new legal, scientific or investigative work could be done which could show that an innocent person has been wrongly jailed. When our reviews identify such work, we take steps to ensure it is done, either by commissioning the work ourselves or by making representations to the appropriate bodies. We make submissions to the Criminal Cases Review Commission and the Court of Appeal. Where our casework identifies systemic failings, we undertake policy work to bring change for all within the criminal justice system.
