About us
Who we are
The purpose of the innocent foundation is to help the world’s hungry. As of 2019, there are still 821 million hungry people in the world. This means 1 in 9 people go to bed on an empty stomach every night. We really want to change this. The good news is that hunger is one of the world’s most solvable problems. It’s halved since 1990, but there’s still a long way to go.
A world without hunger is possible in our lifetime, and is our vision for the future.
We’re a grant-making charity which funds outstanding charities to deliver projects tackling hunger around the world. Over the last 16 years, we’ve given nearly £9m to help more than 1 million hungry people, and have learnt a lot about how to make the biggest possible impact with our donations. As a foundation we’re looking to accelerate our response to a growing need – last year alone we granted nearly £2m across a portfolio of 20 projects.
