About us
Who we are
Pity, hatred, discrimination, isolation, and exclusion from most spaces of everyday life, prevents many of India’s 26-90 million ‘invisible’ citizens with disabilities from participating in a level playing field.
Lack of interaction between the disabled and non-disabled communities, coupled with centuries-old negative attitudes, further compounds disabled peoples’ necessity to conform to a mainstream Indian society that views them as contagious, worthless, welfare-dependent, and all so often, automatically relegates them to the lowest rung of the caste ladder.
We work to ensure children, youth, and people with disability realise their full potential, and contribute as productive members of society.
A number of UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – embracing Disability for the first time – are aligned to the challenges we are committed to addressing.
#SDG1 – No Poverty
#SDG3 – Good Health and Well-Being
#SDG4 – Quality Education
#SDG5 – Gender Equality
#SDG8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth
#SDG10 – Reduced Inequalities
#SDG11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities
