About us
Who we are
There are approx. 500,000 people in the UK with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. These are lifelong diseases which can be debilitating, difficult to manage and is still not well understood.
We collect and analyse data from people with IBD nationally. Our goal is to improve understanding of the care of people with IBD and their treatments and to facilitate research.
We are deeply involved in the fast-moving and exciting area of health data, and the technologies that underpin and transform that data.
We are a small organisation with a big reach. We work closely with our three parent organisations: Crohn’s & Colitis UK, the British Society of Gastroenterology and the Royal College of Physicians. We work directly with hospitals, doctors and nurses across the UK; with drug studies, with the NHS, as well as with key Universities in the fields of biostatistics and data analytics.
The work we do is hard work but deeply rewarding. Above all this is for people who want a job that is far more than ‘just a job’. Working for the IBD Registry team means you can make a real difference to the lives of people with inflammatory bowel disease.
