Within the next decade and beyond, Hope Africa Trust wants to be one of the leading providers of solutions that focus on creating avenues for educational growth and development in Africa. We have a strong desire and passion to see the same international standards of education and quality of education targeted at African Children where they are well educated, given access, protected by law, and nurtured properly.

Hope Africa Trust: Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Policy

1. Purpose

This policy outlines Hope Africa Trust's commitment to creating and maintaining a working environment where equality, diversity, and inclusion are valued and upheld. We aim to ensure that all individuals, regardless of their:

  • Marriage and civil partnership status
  • Pregnancy and maternity
  • Race
  • Religion or belief
  • Sex  

are treated fairly and with respect. We believe that a diverse workforce brings a richness of perspectives and experiences that enhances our ability to achieve our mission.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all staff, volunteers, trustees, contractors, and any other individuals associated with Hope Africa Trust.

3. Commitment

Hope Africa Trust is committed to:

  • Line managers: Have a responsibility to create and maintain an inclusive working environment for their teams.
  • Human Resources: Is responsible for supporting the implementation of this policy and providing guidance and advice to staff.
  • Trustees: Have a responsibility to oversee the implementation of this policy and ensure that the organization is meeting its commitments.

5. Grievance Procedure

Any concerns or complaints regarding discrimination or harassment should be raised through our formal grievance procedure. We will investigate all complaints promptly and fairly.

6. Communication

This policy will be communicated to all staff, volunteers, and trustees through induction training, staff meetings, and other appropriate channels. It will be reviewed and updated regularly to ensure its continued relevance and effectiveness.
