About us
Who we are
Home-Start Goole and District offers support and friendship to families through home-visiting volunteers. The family may want support to attend groups or appointments, or help with child behaviour issues, routines or just want a friendly face and someone to talk to.
Who can they help? Home-Start can help families with children aged 0-8 years, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, living in Goole or the surrounding villages.
‘Big Hopes Big Future’ is a new project to help prepare parents and children to be ‘ready for school’ so that they can start school able to learn and make the most of their education. Volunteers are now trained to provide specific support to families with children who are due to start nursery or school within the next six months.
A Board of Trustees, made up volunteers from the local area, meet regularly and are responsible for the effective performance and management of the scheme.
