About us
Who we are
Home for Good exists to find a home for every child who needs one. We want every child to have a stable, loving home where they can thrive. We know that for children in care, it’s crucial to find the right home at the right time - whether that’s with a short-term foster family in an emergency, a long-term foster family or a new adoptive family. But more families are urgently needed to ensure all children and young people can grow up in the family and setting that is right for them.
There is a national shortage of more than 8,000 foster families and not enough people are coming forward to adopt the children who wait the longest for adoption; sibling groups, children from Black and minority ethnic heritage, those with additional needs and children over the age of four. There is a particularly pressing need for more foster families who can welcome teenagers, as too many are being placed in unsuitable accommodation, instead of being offered the chance to thrive and be supported within a family setting.
Home for Good believes the Church is ideally placed to respond to the needs of vulnerable children through families exploring fostering, adoption or supported lodgings, with the whole church wrapping around in support of families who welcome vulnerable children into their home. We seek to inspire, equip and connect individuals and families on their journey, we resource churches to be welcoming and supportive communities, and we advocate for vulnerable children at all levels of government.
