About us
Who we are
Holloway Neighbourhood Group is a vibrant charity with exceptionally strong local roots going back to 1974 when we were founded. We are determined to work harder and faster to achieve more in the years to come. Our Vision is for empowered, happy and inclusive communities where all people are valued, and our Mission is to provide support and services and build connections to empower people to lead fulfilled lives as part of their community.
We are a multi-purpose community organisation and provide a broad range of services out of our 2 centres in the heart of Holloway, an area of severe and multiple deprivation yet bordered by areas of extreme wealth. The Old Fire Station is a busy community centre were we offer a range of social and wellbeing activities, many of which are for older people, and include exercise and art classes, telephone support and digital inclusion activities. Our other centre, the Stress Project, is a therapy centre where we deliver counselling, complementary therapies and Mindfulness services for people who are on low incomes who experience mental health issues and stress related illness.
We have a small team of paid employees, led by the Chief Executive, and supported by a larger team of about 80 volunteers and sessional workers.
