Why I Am Passionate About This Cause

I am deeply committed to starting this charity for women suffering from fibroids because I have witnessed firsthand the devastating impact it can have. I have heard countless stories from women, but nothing compares to seeing my own mother struggle for the past two years.

She has lost so much—her independence, her job, and the ability to live a normal life. She has endured extreme pain, excessive blood loss, and blood clots the size of my hands. She became severely anaemic, constantly weak and dizzy, unable to carry out even the simplest daily activities. No woman should have to suffer like this, especially when access to treatment is limited and waiting times are unbearably long.

Through this charity, I want to give women the support, resources, and options they need so that they don’t have to go through this alone. Every woman deserves access to care, hope, and a better quality of life.

 

Who We Are:

Her Strength, Our Voice is a newly established charity dedicated to supporting women affected by fibroids and other gynaecological conditions. Our mission is to raise awareness, provide direct support, and advocate for better healthcare services to ensure that women receive timely and effective care.

The Problem

The NHS gynaecology crisis has left thousands of women waiting months—sometimes years—for vital treatment, causing unnecessary pain, distress, and a significant decline in their quality of life. According to the report Waiting for a Way Forward, the backlog in gynaecology services has reached critical levels, with waiting times increasing by 60% since 2019. Women are suffering in silence, experiencing worsening symptoms, loss of employment, mental health struggles, and a severe impact on their daily lives. Healthcare professionals are also under immense pressure, struggling to meet the rising demand with limited resources.

Our Mission

At Her Strength, Our Voice, we believe no woman should have to fight for the healthcare she deserves. Through advocacy, awareness campaigns, and direct support, we aim to bring systemic change to the way gynaecological conditions are treated in the UK.
