Who we are

HemiHelp was started by a group of parents in 1991 who felt they were not receiving the support they needed from the government or existing charities. HemiHelp is a growing national charity providing essential information and support to families affected by hemiplegia. HemiHelp receives no government funding and continues to be self-supporting; with over half of the funds raised coming from our beneficiaries themselves. The staff team work with a wide network of volunteers to provide HemiHelp’s support and information services and raise awareness and funds for HemiHelp. It is the only information based charity supporting people affected by hemiplegia in the UK.
