A Vital Service With Plenty of Challenges
At last your opportunity to make a difference.
Volunteer Assistant Advice Centre Receptionist – 4 hours a week.
The Helping Hands Community Trust is seeking to appoint volunteer assistant receptionists to work as a member of our passionate dedicated team at our Advice Centre in South Wigston Leicestershire and our Oadby surgery.
We provide a free independent, specialist advice service to people whose lives are in crisis, are vulnerable and those disadvantaged by circumstance, living within a geographical area that includes:
Oadby, Wigston, South Wigston, Eyres Monsell, Saffron Lane Leicester, Blaby and neighbouring villages.
Our core services are delivered ‘face-to-face’, where first impressions are vitally important in helping people feel welcome and valued. An essential part of the work is supporting our Part Time Receptionist, exploring, understanding client needs in order to prioritise access to the most appropriate advisor.
During the CV19 Pandemic face-to-face advice is provided by appointment only at our Centre and Surgeries although video conferencing, telephone and online services are available.
A full risk assessment has been carried out at our premises which have been adapted to comply with Government advice. Social distancing and the use of PPE (a personal issue to staff) is required.
We are grateful to the Government Coronavirus Community Support Fund distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund, Leicestershire County Council Community Fund, Leicestershire and Rutland Community Fund, CAF, the Randal Community Foundation, Oadby and Wigston Borough Council, Hastings Direct, local Churches, business consortiums and individual donors for their funding that has sustained our work during the Coronavirus lock down and enabling our return to face-to-face services.
