HELPING CHILDREN INC.

1. Purpose HELPING CHILDREN INC. ("the Organization") is committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment where diversity is celebrated, and every individual is treated with dignity and respect. This policy outlines our commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in all aspects of our work and operations.

2. Scope This policy applies to all employees, volunteers, board members, contractors, and anyone engaged with HELPING CHILDREN INC., including beneficiaries of our programs and services.

3. Policy Statement We are dedicated to:

  • Promoting equality of opportunity for all, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, socio-economic background, or any other characteristic.

6. Responsibilities

  • Leadership: The Board of Directors and senior management are responsible for championing EDI and ensuring its integration into the Organization’s strategy and operations.

  • Staff and Volunteers: All individuals engaged with HELPING CHILDREN INC. must uphold the principles of this policy and contribute to an inclusive environment.

  • EDI Officer: An appointed officer will oversee the implementation and monitoring of this policy, address concerns, and provide guidance on EDI matters.

7. Implementation

  • Recruitment and Selection: Ensure fair and unbiased hiring practices that attract a diverse pool of candidates.

  • Program Design and Delivery: Develop programs that reflect the needs and diversity of the communities we serve.

  • Training: Provide regular training and workshops on topics such as unconscious bias, cultural competence, and anti-discrimination.

9. Accountability Any breach of this policy will be treated seriously and may result in disciplinary action or termination of engagement with the Organization.
