About us
Who we are
Headway Swindon is a local charity specialising in cognitive and social rehabilitation for people with acquired brain injury. From our centre in Dorcan we enable people to relearn key skills, build confidence and social networks, become more independent, and access more choices in life.
We are committed to making a positive change in the lives of people with a brain injury, their families and their carers by providing help, information and ongoing support. We listen to those with brain injuries to find out what’s important to them and then provide a tailored programme of tasks and activities to help them achieve their goals. At Headway Swindon, people with brain injuries come first and are valued and respected. We are committed to helping each and every one reach their full potential so that they can be themselves and live as independent lives as possible.
We believe that all brain injuries matter – no injury is too slight to ignore or too severe to lose hope. Everyone recovers at their own pace and some people can continue to develop new pathways in their brain for many years after injury.
Headway Swindon is committed to raising public and professional awareness of acquired brain injury and the needs of people with brain injuries, their families and their carers.
