About us
Who we are
Headway Basingstoke was founded in 1982 by relatives and carers of people who had sustained a brain injury. Having identified a need for more specialised support locally, relatives and carers worked with professional medical staff to develop services specifically to meet their needs. Headway Place, Basingstoke, opened in 1986 as a Day Rehabilitation Unit and specialises in the rehabilitation and continued support for people with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and their carers and families.
Our services provide community-based rehabilitation therapies at headway place Basingstoke. We aim to provide:
· Services for those who have had a recent injury and require effective early intervention and planning for the future
· Support for those who require longer term rehabilitation and continued support in the community
· Support during crisis
· Advice and guidance to enable people to make informed choices
· Supporting carers/families health and well-being during periods of considerable change
· Provide outreach support within the community where possible
