About us

Who we are

The Harrow & Hillingdon Circuit comprises 17 churches across the London Boroughs of Harrow and Hillingdon and includes two churches which are Local Ecumenical Partnerships (LEPs) between the Methodist and United Reformed Churches.  We currently have 7 ministers supported by a full-time Circuit General Manager, part-time Circuit Property Manager and two part-time Admin Assistants.  The Leadership Team is made up of the ministers and volunteers from across the circuit membership.

The Circuit Office Team cover administration, finance and property management as well as suppotrting churches to ensure they are complient with the various requirements of the Methodist Church and the various regulatory bodies.

The role of the office team is currently shifting to providing more support and training to members, and officers, within the churches and we are therefore looking for someone with the ability to grow within the role to help to provide this service as the roles and requiremnts develop.

Our culture and values

We are a Christian organisation and therefore all employees are expected to be simpathetic to, and work in accordance with, the aims and ethos of the Methodist Church.  The Circuit Office is the central hub of the Circuit and the office staff aim to provide help and support to any minister, officer and church requesting it. We do this by being as flexible as possible in providing that support, without the detriment of the various tasks to be carried out and deadlines to be met - as a result all roles can be varied and satisfying, with the room to expand and support in new ways.  The Circuit Office staff work as a team and there is often collaboration and crossover between roles as we also support each other in our work.

Equality, diversity and inclusion policy

The Strategy for Justice, Dignity, and Solidarity report to the Conference 2021 was adopted by Conference in 2021.  The strategy aims to help the Methodist Church become fully inclusive and to assist the process of embedding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) throughout the Connexion.

The strategy aims:

  • for the rich diversity of people within the Methodist Church to be recognised as a cause for thanksgiving, celebration and praise;
  • to eradicate all discrimination and coercive control within the Methodist Church, and for all people to be treated justly and with dignity across the breadth of the Methodist Church
