Who we are

HARP is a local homelessness charity; our purpose is to help local people overcome and escape homelessness for good. We believe there is no place for homelessness and with the right approach from homelessness charities, housing and other sectors, from experts, including those with lived experience, and from government and funders, homelessness can and will end. With considerable presence locally in an area of high deprivation, and the only local emergency service for single homeless adults (18+); HARP assists over 1,100 people p.a. who are either homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

Our mission is to reduce homelessness by providing emergency housing and long-term solutions to individual homeless people, where there is no statutory duty to assist them.

Last year HARP had to turn away 167 people due to lack of accommodation. Our vision is to be in a position where no-one is turned away.
