About us
Who we are
Every hour, another person in the UK goes blind, and when someone loses their sight, Guide Dogs is here to make sure they don’t lose their freedom as well. The Guide Dogs Central Midlands team is based at our Leamington Spa Training School and supports service users and volunteers throughout Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Banbury and Solihull
In the UK today, almost two million people are living with sight loss and of those, around 180,000 rarely leave their homes alone. Many suffer from depression and struggle with feelings of isolation, and Guide Dogs is here to help solve this through our range of services. We provide individual support that overcomes the emotional and physical challenges faced by people living with sight loss.
The work that we do is only possible due to the fantastic support of more than 16,000 volunteers across the UK and we simply couldn’t survive without their commitment and creativity.
Our volunteers help in numerous ways: by donating an hour at a fund-raising event; through caring for our guide dog puppies and their mums; by driving our vehicles, helping in our charity shop and as sighted guides - directly assisting individuals who simply wouldn't be able to enjoy going out without their help. .
Giving a little time can make a BIG difference, so why not get in touch.
