Who we are
Get Diggin It is an innovative CIC committed to growing community by growing veg in other people's gardens.
At Get Diggin’ It we’ve found a way to get everyone involved from the young to the old, from the garden ‘haves’ to the garden ‘have-nots’, from the wealthy to the not so wealthy, from the well to the unwell so that everyone can benefit from fresh locally grown and seasonal fruit and veg.
Our three guiding principles reside in:
- Food Democracy: Making home grown veg available to everyone who wants to take part
- Treading lightly on the land: giving everyone an opportunity to learn how to garden in harmony with the natural environment, teaching organic principles, returning to nature's prescription for good health and wellbeing and respecting our natural world.
- Community Building: recognising the many contributions of everyone and their importance in the greater good. Helping each other with our unique skills and talents reach a common goal. Valuing the human being for being human, as not as a unit of economic currency. Removing isolation created by competition and replacing it with collaboration.
We need innovative and energetic individuals to help develop projects and to help us lay the foundations for a truly dynamic and inspirational enterprise that serves people first.
