About us

Who we are

This library was originally operated by Barnet Council. After its closure was announced, the HGS Residents Association put in a successful bid to operate the library and within days of the official closure the Garden Suburb Community Library reopened on April 17th 2012, managed and run solely by a team of volunteers.

Due to the dedication of these volunteers, the library has gone from strength to strength, having over 2,000 members with book borrowing steadily rising.

We also offer a range of other activities which include Toddler Story/Song Time on a Tuesday and Sing Song on Thursdays, monthly Book Club and other individual events. Please visit our website for full details at www.gscl.gq,
