About us
Who we are
Fusion Maidstone Healthy Living Centre opened its doors in 2003, building on the work of the health visitors from the former Mid-Kent Healthcare Trust to improve the health & wellbeing of local people im Park Wood. The Healthy Living Centre (HLC) initiative was developed via a partnership led by the former primary care trust. In 2006 Fusion became a registered charity and set about developing programmes, activities and services to address the changing needs of the residents of Park Wood with a strong focus on addressing health inequalities. Fusion is one of a similar set of organisations across Mid-Kent, Medway and North Kent, each offering bespoke and localised approaches to local health and welfare issues. HLCs subscribe strongly to the prevention agenda to improve and maintain health and wellbeing/avoid ill health especially in an ageing and growing population. Fusion works closely with the community to develop a clear role as a hub/gateway through which hard to reach members of the community can access a range of services to support their health, wellbeing and prospects either delivered by ourselves or a partner network.
