About us
Who we are
We're a small group of people focusing on the improvement and upkeep of the Japanese Garden at Hammersmith Park in London, a historical garden that was established back in 1910 for the Japan-British Exhibition and still lives to this day.
We organise a monthly volunteering day when local and not-so-local volunteers spend a few hours helping us carry out a multitude of tasks, depending on the time of year, from pruning to jumping in the pond to clean it and planting new plants to improve the look of the park.
We also have regular meetings with the Council to ensure the needs of the park are addressed and issue surfaced to the attention of the Parks department.
Ultimately, our mission is to ensure the park is and remains a place where everybody, from people looking for some peace and quiet to kids wanting to play in a safe environment, can come and feel welcome.
