About us
Who we are
Friends of the Holy Land is a non-political Christian Charity. Our mission is to secure a resilient and enduring Christian community in the West Bank, Gaza, Israel and Jordan - the part of the world that Christians call the Holy Land. We work to support the lives and witness of Christians living in the Holy Land through prayer and practical projects, recognising that their presence in the land where Jesus once walked is an important witness to all Christians.
Our culture and values
We are an ecumenical Christian Charity inspired by the message of Jesus, a message that still today brings hope to millions of people around the world and was first heard in and around what is now Israel, the West Bank, Jordan and Gaza.
As Christians it is our vocation to seek justice and dignity for all. At the heart of all that we do is Jesus' prayer that God's 'will be done on earth as it is in heaven.' We are sustained by the knowledge that God is with us, revealing to us practical ways of living together.
We work to support the lives and witness of Christians living in the Holy Land through prayer and practical projects, recognising that their presence in the land where Jesus once walked is an important witness to all Christians.
Jesus said; 'Blessed are the peacemakers.' With ecumenical Church partners in the Holy Land, we seek to strengthen the Christian community as a resilient presence in the place that gave Christianity to the world, as with them we work and pray for reconciliation and peace.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Friends of the Holy Land is committed to encouraging equality, diversity and inclusion among its Trustees, its employees and its volunteers. FHL recognises the importance of fostering a culture of openness, inclusion and diversity in everything it does, whether operating as an employer, engaging with volunteers, donors and donees or generally when fulfilling its mission.
