About us
Who we are
Friends and Families of Special Children is a Plymouth based registered Charity providing information, support and services to families who have children with disabilities and additional needs.
Our mission: to make families with disabled children feel valued and experience the best quality of life possible.
The charity was founded in 2002 by our Chair of Trustees, Kay O’Shaughnessy, a parent of a child with disabilities, who identified a huge gap in service provision within Plymouth and its surrounding area. The group gained Charitable Status in 2005 and is now one of the main providers of integrated activities and services within the city.
