About us
Who we are
We’re a small grassroots non-profit focusing on tailored therapy for child victims of Domestic Abuse. Our mission is to support those who’ve experienced childhood Domestic Abuse, addressing trauma and mental health struggles.
As a response to the UK’s domestic abuse crisis, we specifically target the 1.8 million children affected, acknowledging that 1 in 3 may face mental health issues linked to witnessing abuse at home.
Founded in 2013 by our Managing Director, Natasha Benjamin, who faced her own mental health challenges due to a similar upbringing, Free Your Mind CIC is dedicated to empowering children and young people through qualified practitioners with lived experience. We aim to help them overcome trauma and thrive, countering the long-term effects of Domestic Abuse.
We are now launching weekly youth wellbeing events in Ilford, London, and are currently looking for volunteers to support us with these events! These will be every Wednesday 3pm-7pm.
