About us
Who we are
The Foundation for Liver Research is a charity registered in England & Wales (RCN1134579) and it supports research work into the causes, development and treatment of liver disease at the Roger Williams Institute of Hepatology in south-east London. Liver disease is the fourth highest cause of death for people of working age in the UK and rates are continuing to increase in the UK and worldwide.
The Institute is working in partnership with King’s College London but maintains separate financial and HR structures. Staff are employed directly by the Foundation for LIver Research, which is a Living Wage employer. The Institute has recently achieved Athena Swan Bronze Award status recognising our ongoing efforts to support women in science and more widely to make the Institute a diverse, inclusive and welcoming place to work. The team is young, enthusiastic and committed to tackling the challenges of liver disease.
