About us
Who we are
Forward Arts Foundation promotes public knowledge and enjoyment of poetry in the UK and Ireland. As a cultural and educational charity, we change lives by bringing people together, fostering confidence, creativity and community through poetry.
We widen poetry’s audience, honour achievement and support talent: our initiatives include co-ordination of National Poetry Day and the year-round national campaign for poetry, research and advocacy, the Forward Prizes for Poetry and the Forward Book of Poetry.
Our mission is:
- To deepen public appreciation of poetry’s value
- To increase poetry’s audience
- To celebrate excellence in poetry
We are a National Portfolio Organisation funded by Arts Council England
