About us
Who we are
We are a collective of churches, charities and local communities welcoming and actively caring For Refugees.
Refugees are the innocent victims of a problem the global community can no longer ignore. Men, women, children, whole families and communities have fled from the places they once called home. In their bid for safety they risked their lives. Having faced violence and conflict, they have made treacherous journeys to uncertain destinations. These people are our neighbours and we are determined to provide them with fresh hope and a new home. We are For Refugees.
For Refugees exists to encourage and equip communities to welcome and support refugees in the following ways:
- Welcome: We are working with the Cinnamon Network to help local groups to start Welcome Boxes for refugees.
- Support: We are partnering with Home for Good, Refugee Support Network, Upbeat Communities, Love146, Capital Mass and Cinnamon Network to provide practical care and mentoring, as well as English language tutoring for junior refugees.
- Engage: We are providing local communities with the information and connections that they need to understand the issues and make a difference for refugees.
- Campaign: We are enlisting churches, charities and local communities to speak up for refugees.
For Refugees is working with:
