About us
Who we are
Focus Surrey is a local charity which runs a Saturday club for children with autism in Cheam. It is part of a wider network of groups under Focus Autism UK, with other clubs in Liverpool and London. It is run by volunteers and aims to make Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) affordable to families in the UK by offering a club with 1:1 tutoring for four hours every Saturday from 10am to 3pm.
Volunteer tutors can gain experience in ABA, which is an evidence-based teaching method. This is useful for anybody interested in working with any children, not just those with special needs. It would suit those working or studying in the areas of care, teaching, drama/arts, therapy and medicine, and provides an ideal opportunity for people to start their careers as well as offer the chance to learn new skills to give careers a boost.
Volunteer tutors attend the club from 9am to 3pm so that they can receive training, advice and ongoing supervision from the two ABA professionals - Board Certified Behaviour Analysts.
We look forward to receiving your application to join us in this rewarding role!
